P.C. Hodgell was born in 1951. She attended the Clarion and Milford Writers' Workshops and holds a Master's Degree in English literature and a Doctorate in 19th-century English literature. She taught at the University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh until 2006, when she retired to write full-time. She resides in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Hodgell is best known in speculative-fiction circles for her infrequently-published Kencyr series, currently spanning four books and one short-story collection.
