Silhouette Nocturne intends to make its mark on the world of paranormal romance and Jersey author Caridad Pineiro is one of the award-winning authors Harlequin has chosen to help launch this new line with "Death Calls" in December 2006.

Caridad is no stranger to the world of paranormal romance as her "Calling" vampire series began in 2004 under Silhouette's Intimate Moments imprint with "Darkness Calls." "Danger Calls" and "Temptation Calls" followed in June and October of 2005 and all three books have now sold out. "The Calling" books have been nominated for and/or received various awards, such as the Affaire de Coeur 2004 Readers Poll, Harlequin 2004 Reader's Poll, Top 5 Pick for 2005 from Catalina Magazine and the 2005 RIO Reviewers Awards.

Recently, Caridad attended the 2006 BookExpo America in Washington, D.C. to help launch Nocturne. In 2000, Caridad was one of the Latino authors featured at the first ever Spanish Pavilion at the BookExpo America in Chicago.

This will be a busy year for Caridad as in addition to "Death Calls" in December 2006, Caridad will be releasing her first women's fiction title in September "Sex and the South Beach Chicas" from Pocket Books. "Sex and the South Beach Chicas" explores the changing relationships of four life long friends when one of them decides to elope and upsets the balance of the relationship. Three other novels follow from Pocket in 2007.

Also look for "More Than a Mission," Caridad's August contribution to the "Capturing the Crown" series from Silhouette Intimate Moments. Find out what happens when a seemingly mild-mannered chef must defend herself against and ex-Army Ranger who believes she is a world-renowned assassin. Rights for the sequel to this story were just acquired by Silhouette.

When not writing, Caridad is a partner in a New York law firm, teaches workshops on various topics related to writing and heads a writing group. Caridad has appeared on Fox Television's Good Day New York, New Jersey News Jersey's Talking with Lee Leonard and WGN-TV's Adelante Chicago as well as being one of the Latino authors featured at the first ever Spanish Pavilion at the 2000 Chicago BookExpo America.
