David S. Grant?s new novel, Corporate Porn, will take you on a steady roiling to near boiling cruise through today?s sarcastic and sometime caustic world of business and sex, and the business of sex.
The central character is a computer software project manager named Trevor, who gets caught in a corporate double cross by a competing vendor and is fired from his job.
Things go from bad to worse as he walks in on his girlfriend cheating on him. Confused and drunk, he hires a hit man over the Internet to take care of his corporate enemies.
When he sobers up and decides that maybe hiring a hit man isn?t really necessary, things go from worse to horribly worse, when he learns that the hit man, known only by the name ?Scorned CEO?, doesn?t accept cancellations.
With help from a cross dressing friend, they trace the would-be assassin to South Beach, where there?s a classic showdown in a modern day OK Corral.
How does everything turn out? Lights, camera, action.
Ready to get a peek at the underbelly of life in corporate America?
Excerpt: ?I?d like to thank everyone for the good job they did today.?
Corporate Porn is a humorous alcohol- and sandwich-fueled romp through the darker side of corporate America and the lighter side of the adult film industry.
David Grant displays a new and soulful voice characterized by a brilliant wit interspersed with moments of powerful social commentary as he leads us from the hopeless cubicles of the business world to the Speedo-laden sands of South Beach, along the way introducing us to a cast of disenchanted young men and women (and somewhere in between) who find redemption in an unlikely place?the burgeoning adult film industry of Omaha, Nebraska.
Filled with memorable characters and witty dialogue that cuts to and through the heart of the first decade of the new century, Corporate Porn is an enjoyable read for anyone who's ever struggled under a project deadline or thought about running away to Paris or wondered if maybe they were cut out to be a porn star.
